Kate Spade almost literally sprang into then retail fashion world in 2013. Today, there are over 40 stores mostly in North America and Europe turning over $4billion.
Four of them are in London. We were asked to restore the Kate Spade signature dark hardwood floor imported from the USA, staircase and the upstairs floor of their prestigious store in Regent Street.
The wood was pre-finished in a combination of oil and lacquer. Obviously, the company was happy because we asked to do the same for their new Covent Garden where the existing floor was in poor shape. We restored the surface and stained the oak virtually black to match the company signature style then lacquered it as oiling it would have taken too long.
