Inspection
We welcome the opportunity to give you a quotation. We do not pretend to be the cheapest but you will not find better value for money. We measure up with great precision so the amount of wastage is minimised. Also to be sure we do not underestimate the materials we need. This avoids reordering a delivery and consequent delay.
Please do not ask us for a quote on the phone. Some floor fitters offer this service but it really does not work.
We will also look carefully at the sub floor. Unless the floor is laid on a firm and flat underlying layer, it will not be long before things start creaking and falling apart. You will be wasting your money. We do not allow that.
Planning
The choices of wood, styling of design, colour, finish end up as a permutation of myriad options. So, you may need some help, that is, unless you are very clear at the outset what suits your home best. Even then it’s good to discuss it with us as we know the technology
Some floors need to be as neutral as possible to highlight the décor of the room; some can be ornate to be integrated into the décor. The larger the room the more adventurous you can be. Patterns can include duo-toned parquet, maybe, or distressed oak chevron or basket weave.
Purchasing
We work closely with Britain’s top suppliers of wood flooring so we know who to approach for exactly the right hardwood. All our suppliers are committed to ethically harvested woods from around the world.
Installing
We take great care to fit floors perfectly. That means the boards or parquet blocks, engineered or not, are laid on firm foundations to prevent bowing. Fitting is wall to wall without a visible gap between floor and wall. We work precisely around corners so the finished floor fits like a glove.
Finishing
Once the floor has been laid, we can offer a variety of finishes: lacquers for colour or oils and waxes for resilience and resistance to scuffs and spills. We are never satisfied until we know you are.
